Athletes of the Week April 24-30

Michael App – Carteret: Michael improved his record to 4-1 with a complete game four hitter vs. Bishop Ahr on Thursday April 27. He lowered his season ERA to 1.27 in 33 IP.  Michael has struck out 39 batters over that time while only walking eight. He has four of Carteret’s five wins on the mound.
Caitlyn Murray – Carteret: Caitlyn was 6 for 8 last week at the plate with five runs scored, two doubles and a homer. On the mound she had 17 strikeouts and just one walk for the Ramblers.
Lauren Cassella -Edison: Lauren is three sport athlete for the Eagles receiving honors playing lacrosse and soccer over the past two years. She recently tallied her 200th career point last game against Bishop Ahr. She has broken the school record for total goals (180) and for goals in a season (94). Lauren is currently ranked in the top five in the state for goals per game, points per game and ground balls.Lauren started playing lacrosse her freshman year in high school and has been a three year varsity starter. Possessing incredible speed, quickness and strength, she has been able to attract attention at the collegiate level with several scholarship offers. After deliberation, Lauren has decided to attend Drew University next year where she will be playing both lacrosse and soccer.
Casey Ra – Woodbridge Academy: Casey is a junior on the softball team who is batting .353 and has a fielding percentage of .944 playing both 1st baseman and pitcher.
