Taylor Gerhart-Wardlaw-Hartridge: Taylor has provided the fuel to the engine of the Wardlaw-Hartridge Rams all season as the team’s leading scorer and rebounder, while also directing the offense. The senior captain surpassed 1000 points in early February as a mainstay on the Rams’ team four-year varsity starter. A typical week for Taylor was a 3-game stretch in which she tallied 58 points and pulled down 39 rebounds. She recorded multiple double-doubles this season. Taylor has been a leader on and off the court for the Rams in her four year career putting up amazing numbers in soccer, basketball and softball while maintaining a stellar GPA. The three-sport standout will play softball for UNC-Pembroke next year.
Kayla Johnson-Edison: Kayla is a junior with a long history of success in the Eagles bowling program. She holds the high average in the Red Division as well as for the entire GMC. She finished 2nd in County Individuals and 24th in the state. She has an overall average of a 214 for this season, with a high series of 745 and a high game of 289. Kayla is a hard working and focused athlete as well as student. She participates in Junior Gold and bowls in tournaments across the area. Kayla continues to work hard to improve her skills and is on her way to becoming the top bowler in Edison High history.
Billy Povalac- Edison: Billy is a junior at Edison High School. He is having a break-out season for the Eagles. Currently he is 35-0 wrestling at the competitive 138lb weight class. Some of his accolades this season include 1st place at the John Goles Tournament (Warren Hills), 1st place at the Edison Classic, 1st place in the GMC tournament, and 1st place in the District 19 Tournament. Billy has been voted Outstanding Wrestler at every tournament that the Eagles have participated in this season. He has been a varsity starter since his freshman year and is on pace to break the 100 win milestone next season.
