Junior Natalie Ginez finished first and was one of several South Brunswick runners to throw down personal best times as the Vikings captured the girls title at the first ever GMC Red Division Championships in Monday at Thompson Park in Jamesburg.
The meet is part of a pilot program being run this season by the GMC Red Division.
Ginez, the younger sister of multiple GMC track and cross country champion Sophia Ginez, broke away in the final mile on her way to winning the biggest race of her career so far in 19:56, two seconds faster than her previous PR that came at dual meet at Thompson last week.
South Brunswick went 1-2-3-11-12 to outscore runner-up Old Bridge, 29-46. The Vikings received PR’s from six of its seven runners.
