Future college baseball teammates Zach Attianese of Old Bridge and Robbie Peto of Monroe highlighted the list of nearly two dozen Greater Middlesex Conference student-athletes who signed or are expected to sign a National Letter of Intent during the weeklong early signing period.
The period, which began Wednesday, is for student-athletes in all sports except football and soccer, who have their opportunity on Feb. 3 to formally commit to a college.
Attianese and Peto, who will continue their careers at the University of North Carolina, are two of seven baseball players from the talent-rich league who will continue their careers at the next level.
The other diamond stars include North Brunswick’s Eric Reardon (Rutgers), Sayreville’s Peter Soporowski (Rider), Colonia’s Mike Wilson (Stony Brook), Monroe’s Rico Viani (Wagner) and Sayreville’s Connor Johnson (East Stroudsburg).
