Karl Towns’ already stellar week just got even better.
The basketball star at St. Joseph of Metuchen received the Gatorade National Player of the Year award on Thursday, three days after helping his squad to the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions title.
“It’s a whirlwind right now,” Towns said. “There have been so many highs for me in a short span. With the TOC championship on Monday, I was just starting to recover from that. I’ve been blessed a lot and I’m just happy I was able to do so much over the last year.”
The Kentucky-bound senior was named New Jersey Player of the Year last weekfor the second straight season. And after helping St. Joseph win the T of C for the first time Monday, Towns has another trophy to add to his collection.
