Stephen Bartlett is a family member of the Old Bridge High School boys lacrosse team, and while he may not play in any games, he has contributed to and made a tremendous impact on the team on and off the field.
Bartlett is an Old Bridge sophomore who has been fighting Stage-4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for the past three years and has been in and out of hospitals while receiving heavy dosages of chemotherapy, as well as a bone marrow transplant, during that time period.
The team plans to hold a fundraiser game in his honor May 1, as Old Bridge will take on Scotch Plains-Fanwood that night at Lombardi Field at 7 p.m. The Raiders were a natural opponent for this event, as their junior goalie Cole Weber was diagnosed with cancer following last year’s lacrosse season and has since come back strong this season after beating the disease.
