It’s a play that Wendell Allen works on in practice every day, but the halfback option hadn’t found its way into a game during 2015 for the senior running back. That changed Friday night.
When Allen received a pitch from quarterback Josh Liao, taking him to the right of the line, Allen saw Piscataway’s two safeties step up and he knew the opportunity was there. He let a pass fly and hit a wide-open Justin Shorter for a 51-yard touchdown pass, the difference in a 14-10 win for South Brunswick.
